This is an excellent tool for those who wish to sell their characters on forums as well. Imagine, a third party, independent place, where someone can upload their 'For Sale' character XML, thus allowing potential buyers to view the toon.

I tried anonymising my character name by editing the xml file. It seems to work just fine, and even replaces my old "Grey Area" data, due I suppose to the character ID number (clever that).
Of course, it's not very anonymous for me, and to be honest I ain't so bothered about it - but if others want to register that they exist, but not who they are, then this seems a good idea - and it might save you a bit of work.
I used XMLFox, which is Freeware but does require the Net framework and has a couple of nag screens on exit, loaded up the original xml file and just did "Replace" on the sheet for "Grey Area" with "Anonymous". Works fine.
Just thought that those who have security concerns might want to take advantage of it...but I suppose it does make it harder to check if they have been a bit "creative" with other aspects of the xml file...
Edit: OK, so if you go into the link for "Anonymous" there is a picture of Grey Area's ugly mug. Fine. If you need to know who someone is SO badly that you are prepared to trawl through thousands of character portraits, then I think in some kind of sick way you actually deserve to get the information.
he he he, this editor is fun!!! But a good idea for those who are really security concious. Here is what I came up with: CLASSIFIED

Log into EVE website... then go to "My Character" on the left side, choose a character and then there is a little button that says "Show XML", after that save the webpage as XM and upload.
